|Biography: With two critically acclaimed albums behind him, and a third in the pipeline, Darrius Willrich has revealed his natural gift as a singer/songwriter and producer, as well as his electrifying mastery of the keyboard. Initially influenced by the genius of Stevie wonder and Prince, Darrius has crafted an original style all his own, capitalizing on his innate musical ability to combine diverse genres of music, from jazz to hip hop, electronica to soul and R&B.
Darrius is a cornerstone to Seattles live music scene. He collaborates regularly with the sensational soul revue Soul Provider, the sweet and intoxicating Choklate and worldwide hip hop/soul strong men Donyea Goodman, Vitamin D, Jake One and Bean One. He has played before audiences along side Tyrese, Macy Gray and Earth, Wind & Fire, Dilated Peoples, Public Enemy, Ozomatli, and Pharcyde.
In addition to collaborating with multi-genre sonic conspirator Chukimai, Darrius also co-writes with producer Brent Laurence on house beats for the UK club scene and beyond. He has also composed scores for four feature films by Sankosa Films.
Darrius devoted his life to music at the age of twelve and has never looked back: from teaching himself to play by ear, to later graduating Summa Cum Laude from Cornish College of the Arts with a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Piano, Darrius has refined his musical expertise to a level rarely matched by someone of his generation.
